Welcome to Spanish at Memorial Drive Elementary where students are given the opportunity to build the enthusiasm of learning a "world" language, to have an appreciation for the value of being bilingual in today's society, and to have the exposure of Latin American cultures.

The Memorial Drive's Spanish classroom strives to be a safe and welcoming place where children can take risks with language and progress at their own pace. Our lessons are built on the framework of the of "¡Viva el Español!" curriculum and materials. This curriculum includes puppets, games, songs, video, picture books and taped conversations. This basic curriculum has been enchanced by materials pulled from a variety of sources by teachers with many years of classroom experience. The result is a learning environment that is fun and productive and makes kids fall in love with Spanish.
